The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third entity of the Trinity.  The first and second being Father God and Jesus the Son respectively.   It was sent as a comforter to us following the resurrection of Jesus and resides in our body regarded as the temple, which replaces the Ark of the Covenant of the Old Testament.  Its purpose is to guide us in our Christian life, to strengthen our relationship with God so we can enjoy the all of His blessings – Love, Joy, Peace, Health and Wealth in our life here on earth.

The existence of the Holy Spirit is in fulfilment of the promise of Jesus when He said in John 14:16 ”And I will pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter that He may abide with you forever.” and in John 16:7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart I will send Him to you". [Jesus was referring to His crucifixion and resurrection.

As we allow the Holy Spirit to take control of our lives we will begin to see the promises of God take shape but it has to be a decision taken by oneself as the Holy Spirit will never force Itself on you.  If you decide to do your own thing, It will allow you full freedom to do so until you seek and hand control back to It.

To become a Christian is by choice through conviction, decision and acceptance of Jesus for what He represents and did on the cross at Calvary.

How do you receive the Holy Spirit?

This is freely given to those that acknowledges and receives Jesus Christ as their Saviour. In other words, that He died in your place for the sins that are in you.  When you confess your sins and pray the Prayer of Confession It will come and live in you and will never forsake you.  You will sense Its presence within you.  It may seem remote at times but It will always be there to comfort you in times of need.

The Best Part of being a Christian.

One of the most beautiful things about being a Christian is the freedom that you will enjoy. Because God has forgiven you for all your sins, no matter how hideous or innocent they may be, you no longer have to carry that burden of guilt around with you. No one can condemn you any more.  Once God has forgiven you for your sins they no longer exists in the eyes of God.  The slate has been wiped clean.  Totally. Isn’t that great?  On top of that you have all the promises of God that have been given to you including eternal life.

Praise God for He is good !!   He loves you and cares for you. Though you may not think much of yourself, He regards you as important and precious and wants you to return to Him.  His arms are wide open to receive you.  He is calling you by name.  Will you take the first step towards Him?
